Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Technology nowadays has become a necessity rather than a luxury, and in the classroom, this is not the exception.
My students come from economically challenged households and most often, the only encounter with technology is at school- so why deprive them of that possibility?
Our Title I students are identified as being economically disadvantaged, at-risk, and English Language Learners. Unfortunately, they just underwent the aftermath of a recent hurricane in our area. Some of them lost everything, others were fortunate enough and didn't. Despite these challenges, their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn have not been shaken. Every day, our leaders use technology to expand their knowledge and continue affirmative in their education.
My Project
My students are anxious to put into practice their daily learning and increase their participation.
By providing them with the hands-on materials necessary to practice, they will be able to increase their class participation.
The whiteboards will be used to practice their weekly high-frequency words, spelling words, during their literacy centers, during small and whole group instruction. Other materials, such as pencils, will be used on a daily basis in class and will be provided to students to complete their homework. The daily schedule will provide a visual for the students to understand the concept of time and chronological order.
