My students live in a small community in Central Ohio. Over 56% of our students are living in poverty. Our school, like others, is trying to provide our students with the best education possible and help set them up for lifelong success. We have been doing this by trying our best to teach to different learning styles, by individualizing learning and incorporating technology and project-based learning whenever possible.
My school has recently switched to a hybrid educational model to engage, challenge, and enrich our students in the learning process through technology and project-based learning curriculum.
Students are constantly changing and so are we.
My Project
Last year we were extremely lucky to get some funding to start our dream of building a fully functional outdoor classroom. We have 4 raised flowers beds up, 4 benches and an outdoor storage shed but we have again run out of funds to continue to get the rest of the materials we need. This outdoor classroom is extremely important to us and we would love to get the rest of the materials we need to build more raised flower beds and have more seating for the students. This is why we have requested 3 more flowers beds and the 3 new benches. The soil will allow us to fill the beds to plant more seeds. The drill will help us put the beds together. The hoses will allow us to water the flowers in the beds. Our goal is to eventually use our vegetables in a school salad bar. Thank you for helping support our project.
