This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

First graders are curious about the world around them. I have a fantastic group of first graders this year. My first graders love to come to school and learn with their friends. I teach at a Title I school, and the majority of the students receive free or reduced-price lunches.

Despite the many challenges they may face outside of school, my students are enthusiastic and curious about the world around them.

Many of them take their newfound knowledge and teach their family members at home. They take pride in their learning, and they love to learn.

My Project

My first graders are working hard this school year. I am so excited I was able to get one table funded and now hoping to get another table so more students can work outdoors. This table would allow more students to be able to complete independent work right outside my door. They can grab their books and read in the sunshine and fresh air. Not only can my students use this table, but it also can be used by the other grades that are in my wing too. This would be a great addition to our wing.
