This is my first year teaching in an intercity urban school division. I am teaching a wonderful group of diverse students. My students may not all have a great home life but, they try their best once in the classroom.
In our classroom, we leave our troubles at the door and strive to meet our academic goals through interactive learning.
As a teacher, what I love best about my students is how much determination and strength they have. No matter what life throws at them, they keep going and do not give up.
My Project
Having flexible seating in the classroom can help students learn in their own way. By allowing the students the chance to take charge of their learning environment it helps students feel more comfortable in the classroom.
When a student feels comfortable in the classroom it also motivates them to try harder because they feel supported and safe when learning new ideas.
The flexible seating I have chosen in this project will start my students' options for flexible seating. Flexible seating will allow my students to stay engaged in their learning while getting their wiggles out. My goal is to meet the needs of all my students in our classroom. Some students needs to require being able to move while learning. Flexible seating allows those students a chance to move without being disruptive.
