My students are excited about learning! When I introduce a topic they always want to learn more. Believe it or not, my students choose to read their history book chapters even before I assign reading.
The other day, one of my students wanted to know if there had ever been an earthquake in the state of Florida, so she went home and researched.
Then she came to school the next day with the information written on an index card and shared it with the class. I am so proud that my students take the initiative to enhance their education.
My Project
A document camera and projector will give me the ability to demonstrate note taking skills first hand. It will allow me to display large scale maps when studying Geography. It will also allow the students to share their work in a way that allows all other students to see at the same time. My students will be able to clearly see a video clip or directions from their desks with no need to sit crowded together on the floor.
Being able to display a lesson on the front board will allow me to work side by side with the students and project the actual activity they have in front of them.
I want to be able to keep a teacher set of notes that reflect the notes the students have in their own journals.
Right now I have to recreate 8 1/2 x 11 size papers on the white board in a fashion that is large enough for all students to see. This can be challenging and time consuming.
