This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Today's classroom looks quite different than a classroom from years ago. Students today are using computers and tablets to reinforce many concepts being taught by the teacher.

I teach at a K-6 elementary school that is made up of 560 students.

Of these students, 220 of them qualify for free or reduced lunch. My 32 kindergarten children are bright and eager to come to school. They come from diverse backgrounds. Each of my students is special and is excited to learn. I want to give them every opportunity to learn and be a productive member of society.

My Project

I am teaching my students to become confident and proficient using computers and tablets. During center time I have one small group using iPads, while other groups are either working independently or in small groups. I use this time to introduce or reteach concepts to small groups. Students are able to use the iPads to listen to stories, practice math facts, or reinforce language arts skills.

When my students are using iPads they are engaged and excited.

They love going to the computer center or using them when their work is finished to reinforce skills. My hope is that each student can use an iPad for 10-15 minutes each day. Please help by putting an iPad into the hands of my students!
