My students have faced a tremendous amount of hardship in the past year and a half, due to Hurricane Harvey. Most of them come from low economic households and are exposed to daily struggles that no 7 or 8-year-old should have to face. This has all caused many setbacks in their work abilities. School is a safe haven for my students and I try my best every day to provide them with the resources they need to succeed. However, we still lack many tools needed to supplement their learning experience.
The odds have been stacked against my students; however, they still manage to persevere and make me proud each and every day.
They are bright, driven, and the most creative group of children. I feel so blessed to be their teacher and hope to make a lasting impression on their lives!
My Project
Being able to integrate technology into my students' education is a goal of mine every day. In my classroom, my students only have access to 2 computers, 1 that is constantly having to be repaired. To say we are lacking the resources that are essential to helping me incorporate technology into my students' education is an understatement. Amazon Fire tablets would not only help us reach our 60 minute technology goal each week, but would also help reach my high and low learners. I would be able to work more in small groups, while the rest of my class is occupied learning through technology.
By having access to technology at the touch of a button, I will be able to transform my students' learning tremendously.
It is my goal to provide my students as much access to technology as possible!
