My students need granola bars, pretzels, goldfish crackers, and animal crackers to help them be successful in school and not have to worry about being hungry.
First-grade students love to learn. They are active, curious, and eager to learn skills to help them be successful . They need many different kinds of materials such as pencils, markers, glue, and books. Although, those are not all they need. Some are homeless and come to us with nothing. These students come from all different backgrounds and skill levels. They need extra support to help them get through the day.
Students come to school struggling even before the lessons begin.
Some students are homeless and come to us with much greater needs. Sometimes they do not have food in the house and school is the only place that they can get meals. Students that arrive late miss out on the free school breakfast so having snacks in the classroom will allow them to eat and be ready to learn.
We need granola bars, goldfish, pretzels, and animal crackers for students that come to school hungry. Giving a morning, afternoon, and a snack before going home will help the students be more focused on learning. This allows for all students in the classroom learn to their full potential .
My Project
Many students in my school move around often. Many days the only meals they receive are at school. When they come to school late they often miss out on the free breakfast.
Having snacks such as Goldfish crackers, granola bars, and pretzels in the classroom for the students to eat will help them focus on the lessons instead of focusing on their hunger.
Being able to supply granola bars and other snacks will help students that face homelessness by filling their tummies.
With full tummies students will be able to concentrate on learning throughout the day.
Giving a morning and afternoon snack will help students focus on learning. Sending a snack home with students gives them a little extra support outside the classroom.
This helps students learn to their full potential.
Having a verity of snacks gives the students a choice of what will help them get the nutrition they need. Having a full tummy allows students to focus on the work and not on the discomfort of being hungry.
