We are a one of four kindergarten classes at our large community school of 550+ students. Our school serves a low SES population and these kiddos deserve the best in their school environment. We are a 100% free lunch and breakfast school for all of our students. A lot of my students have turbulent home lives, and though I can't control what happens outside school, the knowledge of this has driven me to try even harder to make my classroom a safe, friendly and nurturing space for my students.
My kinders are energetic, enthusiastic and their brains are growing as fast as their bodies!
The school can often feel very busy, and our schedule has to be rigid in order to keep the machine running. However, in our classroom we like to breathe and feel more peaceful and flexible. My students love to play, they love to listen to stories on the rug, they love exploring, and they love each other.
My Project
For some of my students, school is the friendliest, safest place in their life and I want our room to be as inviting and cozy as I can make it. My kinders are bright, energetic and, to be honest, getting a bit cramped on our small, tannish classroom rug.
We are in need of a rug that both suits our classroom spirit and help us spread out!
We build our community, share thoughts, read and explore on our carpet area- it is the central hub of our classroom. Plus, when we aren't worried about our personal bubbles we can get our minds in gear to learn! Help us make our classroom cozy and comfortable from the ground up! ^_^
