Help me give my students a natural learning environment to spark creativity and imagination with nature-themed materials including topiary trees, bulletin board sets and borders.
We have around 400 students. Many who are open enrolled (around 13%) who choose to come to our school because of its wonderful reputation. 46% of the student population is economically disadvantaged, almost 23% of the population are students with disabilities and about 8% of students have limited English proficiency. However, our students are amazing, wonderful and inspiring people, and they show huge growth in subject areas. Their hard work and determination have helped our school to earn an amazing 5 star rating on the state report card.
My Project
Nature creates an environment that allows students to be creative and curious on a daily basis. Allowing students to have an "outdoor" themed classroom will benefit them as if they could go outside to learn each day.
Outdoor items such as trees, logs, plants, animals and rocks are all things that can make children intuitive and ask questions.
Having these life-like items in the classroom will enhance the opportunities to learn about nature.These days, outdoor education has been taken up by technology and reduced free time.
Time spent in nature offers development, emotional and health benefits to children. Please consider helping my classroom become "nature-al"!
