My students need supplies to work on different math projects and activities, as well as, household items to ensure our classroom is clean. Lastly, we need a printer to print out our work!
We are a school located in the great metropolitan city of Philadelphia in the North/North East section of town. My students are from a very urban area and with almost 100% participating in the free and reduced lunch program.
My students need resources to help them become proficient in math concepts.
Our resources are limited and with your donation, my students will be able to solve problems in creative and conceptual ways to better their understanding.
I want my students to have everything they need when working in the classroom without having to forgo activities that we can't do because of our limited resources. Students learn better using all their senses, even in the middle school setting.
My Project
Students learn in different ways and with different strategies. I have found the more hands-on activities students experience, the more in-tune they are with the lesson and the more proficient they become in the concepts being taught.
Your generous donation to our project will improve my 8th-grade math classrooms by making my students better mathematicians and problem solvers.
In our class, we create an interactive notebook for students that have as a reference when they are home. The printer is used to print out the actual templates or activities. The glue sticks and colored pencils are used to create vibrant foldables, differentiating concepts and skills. We do a lot of partner work and make presentations of our work, which is why we need the poster paper, for display purposes and class conversations. Finally, the earphones are to help students use computers in an independent way where they can watch tutorials and do math activities.
