I teach 7th grade pre-algebra, intensive pre-algebra, and algebra.
For many of my students it is difficult to complete their homework because they are having difficulties understanding the lesson while at school.
My students attend a middle school, grades 6-8, that does a good job at providing opportunities for all students to succeed. It is very important for all middle school students to gain a firm grasp of mathematical concepts before they enter high school.
My Project
It is important to have different resources available for students that are having difficulties with math. Mathalicious will allow my students to engage in interactive lessons that visually show mathematical concepts in life situations.
Mathalicious, a digital courseware as a resource in my classroom, will give my students and I many different possibilities for classroom activities. It will allow me to visual examples of problems that directly relate to the new mathematical standards contained within common core. The big bonus is students love using the computers to learn and stay actively engaged the entire time!
Knowing basic mathematical concepts is absolutely necessary to be a productive member of society!
