Learning Math, Science, and Social Studies Through Art
My students need acrylic paint, construction paper, and sharpies of multiple colors to create 2D and 3D art projects. Through these art projects they will reinforce math skills and more.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are awesome! They are artists, readers, mathematicians, scientists, athletes. They are sweet second graders who come from low income families. My school is a Title I school. We strive to make the school a better place for our kids so that they can thrive.
Many of my students are English language learners.
Some of their parents do not speak English, leading to many ability levels. Some of the students are reading below grade level for a variety of reasons (learning disabilities, did not attend Pre-school, etc...). ALL of my students want to learn and are ready to work hard this year.
My Project
For this project I am requesting some basic and not so basic art supplies. I am asking for acrylic paint, construction paper, and sharpies of different colors to be used by my students to create art projects.
My students will be reinforcing math, science, and social studies skills through different art projects.
These art projects will have them creating islands with different landforms, painting 3-dimensional shapes creating patterns with the use of color, and researching and creating habitats made out of cardboard, paint, and other recycled materials.
Using art to learn and reinforce skills learned is an engaging way for students to really retain the concepts learned while exploring their creative side as well.
