Learning Math Remotely via Zoom Using a Wacom Tablet

My Students

I teach math at a school that is STEM-focused. It was create over 60 years ago when the Americans where convinced that we were losing the race to space. My school has been nicknamed a "sputnik" school.

My students are very talented and as a result, we offer a large number of Advanced Placement classes (30 at least, any given year).

Many students go on to college where they study in a STEM field and many also choose STEM-related careers.

My Project

These are strange times indeed and students and teachers have had to adapt quickly. Now I find myself home teaching 122 students on Zoom and I wish I had a Wacom tablet to help me teach my students.

Wacom tablets come to mind when thinking about media arts and digital photography enhancing, but I discovered that Wacom tablets can be a perfect tool to write on PDFs, on web page, and are helpful when handwriting is needed to communicate via annotations.

The Wacom tablet will enhance my students learning of mathematics through the visual aid that it provides. We need all the help we can, when we can't work a problem together on the white board in class!
