This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach newcomers (ELLs) math and what I love about my students are their eagerness to learn math and at the same time learn a new language, English. For many of my students this is their first year in school in the United States and these materials will help them have multiple hands-on-activities in class and become critical thinkers.

My goal with this materials is to give students hands-on opportunities in my classroom to help students understand new topics such as learning about linear equations, graphs and slope of lines. I am also planning in creating group activities to be more interactive where students are not sitting down when collaborating with peers and be able to use the whiteboards to share their ideas with their peers.
