I am a special needs teacher so I serve various groups throughout the day. I also collaborate with primary grades. My groups are very diverse in abilities, the level of family support, and even attitudes. Learning is difficult and most of them require a great deal of encouragement and praise.
It's not that these students can't learn they just need different methods, techniques and realistic expectations in order to be successful.
Though they have lots of friends, they still seem to lack confidence that we see in other students. Most of them will go out of their way to help others and rarely ask help for themselves.
Students will become more familiar with computers and learn skills that are required in a digital workforce. Computers will also assist me with providing differentiated instruction through the use of educational programs and assigning individualized lessons via Google Classroom, which in turn will allow me to work with individual students as needed.
Technology motivates young people and most of them have an unexplainable ability to operate various devices!
Students will use Chromebooks to collaborate in groups and use Google applications to make learning easier. Struggling students need active instruction and immediate feedback to push them forward toward meeting expected goals.
