This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My scholars love to read. Reading is the one thing they have gotten truly excited about and their faces light up when they see new books. They want to learn and learn on their own, but in order to do that they need books that they want to read.

Unfortunately my scholars were hit with COVID-19 during their kindergarten year.

This severely impacted their letter sounds and recognition. While it's something that was worked on last year, they still struggle. I feel that having access to a variety of books that will interest them will help with this.
