This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My preschool students bring such joy to our school. Even though they come from low income homes they know how to brighten up everyone's day.
My preschool students love to learn and complete projects in our classroom.
They are always eager to learn something new. The students are three and four years old who love to learn, play and listen to stories.
My students do not have access to a variety of books and educational supplies in their homes. Our school is located in the inner-city with 100% free and reduced lunch with a household median income of $17,000.
My Project
My students need games and activities that focus on the alphabet, letter recognition, and letter sounds to explore with at Learning Center time. Our students will use these materials to explore and learn their alphabet. These activities will be used during Learning Center times, small group and sometimes whole group as we learn the alphabet and prepare to start reading. They will be able to use these manipulative to learn letters and sounds as they make words. I have also included a laminator to laminate letter activities that are homemade. By having the laminator the games and activities will be able to last longer in the classroom.
Your generous donation to our project will improve our Pre-K classroom by building a stronger reader and writer.
This will change our students' lives for the better. They will love school and feel success at an early age --- having fun while learning!
