My Students

Each morning I welcome 17 curious, little learners into our classroom. Most of my students receive free or reduced lunch and breakfast. I have some students in my classroom that come to me and are learning English for the first time. Despite the challenges my students go through in their personal lives, they never give up and always have a smile on their face when they walk through the door!

My students are eager to learn and are willing to try new and challenging things.

Even though we are located in a high poverty district with lots of obstacles to overcome, my students do not let that hold them back. I am hoping to inspire our future to continue on a path of great success.

My Project

We are requesting alphabet teaching tubs to help my kindergarten students make connections to letters of the alphabet. These teaching tubs will be used in conjunction with the alphabet chart. We will learn a new letter and letter sound each week. When a new letter is introduced the teaching tub will help the students see objects that begin with that letter.

These teaching tubs are perfect for exploring letter sounds.

They let kids identify and sort a variety of objects, play memory games and build vocabulary skills.

These buckets will help my students be able to sort objects by their beginning sound. This will increase their phonemic awareness and help them learn in a fun and engaging way!
