Help me give my students the ability to work on Lenovo laptops in order master content individually, expand upon their own interest and take ownership for their own learning.
I'm located in a small coastal town where we are still recovering from Hurricane Harvey. My cute little town got the brunt of the destruction, we were out of school till mid October. Our students were scattered across the state. Many of our students loss their home, property, and a sense of security. The school year of 2017/2018 was rough, as many of our students have anxiety, depression and suffer from the fear that another storm will hit, or our town will never rebuild. It was a long school year, where our focus shifted from academics to socially and emotionally well-being. We are striving to achieve our social, emotional and academic goals on a day to day basis. As last school year came to a close, our students have finally come to realize a new normal.
It was truly inspirational to see all of our students coming together to rebuild our home, to support one another, and to show bravery, fear, and love.
Our journey is not over yet, many of our businesses are closed, buildings are still not rebuilt, and even our schools do not have a new roof yet. We are a part of rebuild Texas!
My Project
The Lenovo laptops will benefit each unique student in my classroom. I will be able to utilize the laptops in order to make accommodations and individualize the lessons for my students.
The ability for each student to have access to their own Lenovo laptop will enhance their learning.
I will be able to utilize Google Classroom, our online resources, and provide a more hands on approach to learning for my students through these computers. I would love for my students to have the ability to learn the way that suits their learning style. These computers will make that possible. We are still trying to rebuild after Hurricane Harvey, we are a part of Rebuild Texas and want to show our country that we are coming back stronger than ever!
