My students need a variety of current, issue-oriented novels to read during Literary Circles. These books will engage learners in the stories of interesting characters; at the same time, readers will learn about different social conditions.
In our diverse population, we have learners with a range of abilities and situations, ranging from gifted to struggling learners as well as ADHD, autistic spectrum, epilepsy, and severe diabetic conditions.
Every day my sixth-graders are excited and eager to learn about new places, new people, and new cultures.
I love to share literature with my children, and my students LOVE to read! My students travel from all parts of the school district to reach our performing and arts middle school.
My Project
At our campus, Rollings Middle School of the Arts, we stress kindness towards others. Daily messages are shared with viewers on our Morning Show, and this message of kindness is reiterated in our interactions with our school family. Since my students are avid readers, a great method to teach kindness, understanding of differences, and value of all is with literature.
Through reading a variety of current, issue-oriented novels with interesting characters, students learn about the lives and cultures of people with lives very different from their lives.
As they read these novels in Literature Circles, children learn tolerance, empathy, and kindness to others,
My students are amazing and deserve the very best. Not only are they polite and intelligent, but they are also kind and thoughtful. I am so proud of these young men and women. Please partner with me to promote success with our children! Thank you for your support!
