This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach at an iZone urban middle school. The demographics of my students are African American and Hispanic. I have 26 English Language Learners throughout my classes. Despite the challenges, my students show up each day and try their best!

My Project

Scope Scholastic magazine offers tools students need to transform unique stories into unforgettable learning journeys that build reading, writing and thinking skills. Scope is the multi-genre ELA magazine that inspires and empowers middle-school students through fascinating, authentic stories written just for them.

Every issue opens the doors of curiosity and fosters a lifelong love of reading and learning.

Subscriptions for my students will include a digital library of hundreds of texts, videos, learning games and skills activities that you and your students can use anytime, anywhere and on any device.
