My students need 32 Learning Journals and different art mediums to practice different art techniques and express their learning reflections in their journals.
Help me to bring art back into the classroom! Our art teacher has been cut this year due to funding and it is my responsibility to keep art alive. I am going to have my students create learning journals where they will reflect on their learning using different art techniques in their journals.
My third grade students love learning and are eager to use their natural creativity.
Every time my students are allowed to use their crayons or markers their faces light up with excitement. Our student population has students from all over the world and they want to express themselves through art and journaling.
My Project
At the end of the day students will be able to reflect on what we have learned. This challenges students to self-reflect and to think critically about their lives. I will teach various lessons using watercolors, pastels, paint, and other mediums of art to allow students to create their own art that reflects their stage of life or their current wonderings. California Visual and Performing Arts standards for third grade require students to explore ideas for art in a personal sketchbook. Third graders are also required to apply artistic processes and skills, using a variety of media to communicate meaning and intent in original works of art. Creating their very own learning journal is the perfect way to practice different art techniques and put true meaning and careful insight into their art. Students will be allowed to take their journals home to complete art pages with their families over the weekend and teach their parents the art techniques they are learning in school. My students need 32 Learning Journals and different art mediums to practice different art techniques and express their learning reflections in their journals.
Disney please support my project!
My students will be able to create learning journals in third grade that they will keep for a life time. My hope is that students will continue to use a learning journal throughout their lifetime to reflect and create something creative and new everyday. I will implement this project as soon as I receive my supplies. Thank you!
