Mrs. Holmes from Irvington NJ is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need access to copy paper, folders, and sticky notes to be able to create and engage in classroom center activities.

My students are budding artists, scientists, mathematicians, and writers. Although they have various disabilities, their unique challenges have never impacted their beliefs that they will some day fulfill their chosen endeavors. My scholars' laughter and smiling faces are infectious, and their budding curiosity is apparent in the classroom, as they engage in collaborative assignments with their peers. My scholars' disabilities range from attention deficit disorders, to moderate cognitive delays, which can affect their expressive and receptive language ability, as well as, their social skills.
I want my classroom to be a happy place that nurtures the whole child, and invites them to become risk takers along their journey of becoming 21st century learners, thinkers, and problem solvers.
My school is within a Title I district, where most students are from socioeconomically disadvantaged households, and receive free lunch. As a result, the parents of many of my students are unable to afford the necessities of life, much less, the resources that their children need for school.
The paper supply is a resource that is quickly exhausted within my school. The copy paper along with the manila folders will be used to provide center activities for my learners to engage while in school. It will also enable us to stretch resources that there is a shortage of by being able to provide additional copies.
Without the use of copy paper, I am unable to extend opportunities for learning to continue at home by providing additional resources for my students to practice what they have learned throughout the school day.
Additionally, the folders will be used to store my students' completed work, as well as, those assignments that are still in progress. The sticky notes will allow my students to tab important details that they would like to remember while reading independently or collaboratively with their peers.
