This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach Kindergarten in a high-need community in Escambia County. My students are eager to learn and eager to be in the classroom. My students do not understand the wonderful learning experiences that they are missing out on due to social distancing and other restrictions in the classroom. I am going to do my best to make sure that the learning experience they have in Kindergarten is no less wonderful and exciting than any other year I have taught.
My Project
The materials I would like to have will allow my students to have fun activities that they can use at their desks. I do not want social distancing to keep my students from having access to fun learning experiences. I also want to find ways to keep them moving and not just stuck sitting at their desks throughout the day.
Learning centers have always been a big part of the Kindergarten classroom and I am trying to find ways to keep this valuable learning experience safe and sanitary.
Puzzles with a wire rack storage can be used individually at students' desks, then stored and sanitized. Play Dough is a fun teaching tool and can easily be kept at students' desks and not shared with others. Great CD's by Dr. Jean will help keep them moving and learning.
