My students need a chance to experience learning through different forms of technology, and I believe tablets will give them that opportunity.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are resilient. Despite everything that has happened this year due to Harvey and the past weeks ice storms, they have come back ready to take on anything else that comes their way. They are funny, quirky, smart, silly, hard-working, and some of the best story tellers I've ever met. They keep the class interesting, and needless to say, they keep me on my toes. Most of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and unfortunately do not have the experiences and resources students from other backgrounds are exposed too. Most of my students have never left their neighborhood!
My Project
In my classroom, I have 4 computers. On a good day, 3 will work with no problems. It would be nice to 1st give my students a fair chance at differentiated learning using technology.
Secondly, I truly believe technology will prepare my students for the world that we live in now.
Everything is on a tablet, computer, or smart phone, and if they are never exposed, they will not understand how to use these wonderful tools.
Lastly, technology is one way to make learning fun! Students love playing math games, doing science research, and watching Brainpop.com on different topics during a lesson. They also love READING and listening to stories. Having the tablets in the classroom, will give them a chance to find their comfy reading spot in the classroom and explore different worlds through reading.
