Mrs. Whitmer from Valdosta GA is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need this iPad and protective cover to enhance technology, learning, and engagement in the classroom.

Can you imagine not even having a computer at home or not being able to use the new technology that is conquering the world around you? This is the problem my students face every day. They are living in a world filled with technology, but they rarely have the opportunity to use or explore it.
My students attend a Title 1 school where over 90% live at or below the poverty level.
Every student receive a free breakfast, lunch, and snack during the day. Many of the students live in government housing, in the homeless shelter, or in local motels. Most of my students do not have a form of transportation at home and rely on friends or walk to their destination. My students are great scholars and get excited about learning. We are working very hard to implement and learn the new Common Core curriculum and the challenges that come with it. We are looking at ways to use technology to help with these new challenges. Using technology to help with these challenges is what we need and an iPad is a way for us to get these challenges accomplished.
"New technology is common, new thinking is rare" - Sir Peter Blake. This new thinking is what I am striving to get my students to accomplish. We can achieve this through the use of expanding our technology proficiencies. This is the reason we need the iPad for the classroom. It can be used in numerous ways to enhance and engage learning for students. The iPad will allow us to access abundant educational apps & websites that we can use to accomplish the new rigorous Common Core curriculum. The iPad can be used to track our data that is used in our differentiated instruction, and it can also be connected to our interactive board in the classroom during instruction time. As a teacher, technology is extremely important because of the possibilities I can bring to my students' fingertips. It is a way for students to explore their world around them that otherwise they could not financially afford to go.
iPads are the new technology advancement.
They are being used more and more throughout all occupations and the educational system. I want my students to have the opportunity to use this new technology in an educational and fun way. Since most of my students are not financially able to have the technology at home, I want to be able to give them the opportunity to use it in a technology enriched environment
