My Students

I have the wonderful and unique opportunity to teach some of the most amazing first graders in the world! Our school is in a very low income area and many of students are faced with daily hardships and struggles. Despite what their home lives are like, our classroom family is an environment of love and positive attitudes. My students are learning how to be friends and make friends. My students are learning how to be friends, how to show kindness, how to cooperate and how to show empathy. They are learning about the world from inside our classroom and I want them to have a positive outlook on the world!

The background that my students are coming from can sometimes impact the classroom.

They are further behind then the average student and lack home support. My students are eager to learn and even more eager to please! They want to make me and themselves proud. I am amazed every day at how much I see them grow. I want to have materials available to them that will help foster and engage their curious minds so they can develop a true love of learning!

My Project

These materials will make a huge impact on my students' learning! First graders love using white boards and markers while learning different subjects. These white boards will give them the opportunity to practice writing sentences without using boring paper and pencil. These white boards are double sided, which allows them to practice math facts on the plain side. Students will thrive using the dry erase number lines that will be available to them right at their desk! The clip boards will be used for students to complete their work around the classroom. I want them to be able to learn and practice their work where they are most comfortable!

By donating to this project you will be giving my students the ability to be more engaged using fun materials to practice writing and math skills.

The materials I have selected will also allow them to work comfortably around the classroom and not be confined to a desk. First graders are meant to move around and having clip boards allows them to do so. I noticed in other classrooms teachers use clip boards and the students feel professional and important walking around with them. I want my students to feel the same way!
