Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This will be my fourth year teaching Transitional Kindergarten this coming school year. My classroom is still in dire need of furniture and classroom supplies. Throughout the school year, things get broken, lost or consumed. Our school has students with low socioeconomic status and they need your help more than anything.
Since this is a TK classroom, most of the students will be coming to school for the first time.
They need a welcoming and enriching environment that will inspire them to come and learn everyday.
My Project
My TK students will learn from exploration. One of the ways they will learn the alphabet and numbers is by forming the shapes using clay or play dough on a dough mat. They will learn not only to print letters but also to use their imagination and write stories on journals.
These teaching tools will for sure make learning fun and hands-on for the students.
And it will not be complete if they do not get fun toys for play time. The doctor’s kit will inspire the future doctors and the dolls with different disabilities will teach them that we are all created different but we have to work together as one.
