Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my classroom are a diverse group of learners and personalities. They come full of eagerness, creativity, and thirst for learning. Our school is a Title I school that grants free lunch to all students as more than half of our students qualify. There are a significant number of students that do not have access to computers and other tools at home. All they need is someone to provide them with a variety of learning tools. This will also motivate them and they will thrive! Our community is wonderful, united and supportive of each other. However, the community cannot provide what they would like to for this classroom. I would love to make my first classroom a welcoming and comforting place that is full of everything my students could possibly need. I would love for my students to have access to any and all supplies their creative minds need to learn.
My Project
This project will help my students learn basic math concepts at a faster rate. These materials will give students an opportunity to learn math using a hands-on approach. The majority of my students do not have access to these type of tools or materials at home. I’d love for them to have the ability to learn in a variety of ways that go beyond the worksheet model and dive into the exploratory approach. There are also puzzles and games in this project. These puzzles will help my students that are struggling with the language that is being taught. The games will make learning interactive and will hopefully inspire my students to love math!
