Help me give my students rewarding learning experiences by providing them with weighted lap pads, a curve-a-beam game, numbered step-n-stones, and more, that will promote success.
I have a new kindergarten 8:1-3 class who range in ability and some are nonverbal. They are so cute, loving, and happy. They have hearts of gold with their big smiles and wanting to sing and dance.
My students have sensory concerns that I am currently doing my best to meet their needs.
Having nonverbal students unable to tell you what they need is difficult and they need sensory items through out the day.
The weighted blankets are used during instructional time to keep them focused and calm. They also give the student a sense of comfort and safety while in use. The students love these and they all want one.
They also need fine motor skills and the pencil grips and the buckle pillow will assist in learning how to use and strengthen their fingers. These are much needed skills to cut, write, color, and to be able to zip and button their own clothes.
I absolutely love teaching and my students. I am learning so much from them and the best part is their smile, hugs, and enthusiasm to learn new things!
My Project
The items I have chosen will help all my students with sensory and fine motor skills they need in order to learn a variety of concepts. We need to build fine motor skills so they will be able to write, draw and communicate. It is critical to build the basic skills first and gain success before moving forward.
My students will love all of these items and it will help them to stay interactive and enthusiastic about learning.
They will have sensory items that will fulfill their needs through out the day because these items will help. Fulfilling the sensory needs students will be able to stay focused and on task for longer periods of time.
