This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students I teach are an awesome bunch of kindergartners. They come from diverse home backgrounds and each student is unique in his or her own way. Despite the many challenges they face, my passion is to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences in order to help them become lifelong learners.

My Project
The self-checking magnetic math and language cards are both great activities students can both do and check on their own. The language cards cover vocabulary, alphabet, and phonemic awareness skills. The math cards cover the skills of shapes & patterning, beginning operations, and numbers and counting. Each of these skills are foundation for students in my kindergarten classroom. The various BINGO games (alphabet, beginning sounds, rhyming, and colors&shapes) will be fun and engaging for students to reinforce skills previously taught. Finally, the Sight Word Sentence Center will be helpful when it comes to students learning how to produce simple sentences. The center uses color-coded picture-word cards and helps students master 39 common sight words. All items listed in this project will help students across the board in reading math, and writing in a meaningful way.
