My Students

My students are excited to be back in school. They are friendly, kind, enthusiastic and fun-loving. I am amazed at their resiliance especially with all the COVID craziness right now. I love to watch their faces light up whenever I take them outside to learn about the world around them and they discover something they hadn't noticed before or see them share how they solved a difficult math problem with their neighbor. This is what being an educator is all about.

My 3rd graders are learning to do their personal best and persevere as they learn new things.

At our school, we have approximately 700 total students. It is located in a middle-class, suburban neighborhood. The majority of students are Caucasian. 28% are ethnic minority; 12% English Language Learners; 32% economically disadvantaged; 9% qualify for special education services. They love learning experiences that challenge them and allow them to soar to new heights.

My Project

The students in my class struggle to sit still. The last time they had a "normal" school year was Kindergarten. Flexible seating will allow them to wiggle a bit and still focus on their learning.

A variety of reading materials will motivate them and help them improve their comprehension skills.

We will use the whiteboards to show our learning in reading and spelling with dictation and phonics. My students will love showing their solutions to math problems too. Thank you for helping us progress and reach all our learning goals!
