My Students

My Pre-K students represent diverse backgrounds, experiences, risk factors, and reflect a wide range of special needs. They are tiny learners ages four and five, that love investigating, exploring, creating and most of all learning!

They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners.

They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet. They are budding artists, engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs, mathematicians, teachers... They are our future and I want to give them a great start to their long successful careers!

My Project

My Pre-K students are in need of an intriguing light table in our classroom to encourage imagination, increase attention, and spark new learning. By incorporating a light table center in our classroom, children will be intrigued to explore literacy, math, writing, and science concepts through the use of hands on learning with light. The light table will be a perfect place for high level thinking, experimenting, and conversing. By receiving this donation my students will be exposed to a new type of learning experience during center time. They will be excited to engage in various fun learning activities and will be building a richer vocabulary through color mixing, science inquiry, Magna-tile constructing, and much more!

Our light table will be used for open play, academic learning, scientific discovery, and sensory integration.

Each day my students are given the opportunity to explore and engage in small group activities since this is vital in their learning process. It would not be possible to teach and allow them to build a greater knowledge without the use of many different manipulatives in our classroom. I am always looking for new and exciting ways to build a child's knowledge and I believe that this light table and manipulatives will help in so many ways, especially with fine motor development, math and communication skills.
