My students win my heart year after year, which is why I constantly strive to equip them with the best resources available to give them the learning experience they need and deserve in Kindergarten. We live in a rural Oklahoma area and many of my students come from high poverty homes. Despite their different home situations, they all come to school eager to learn. All of my students are wonderful, energetic, and eager learners! They inspire me to continually seek after quality resources that will provide them with the best education possible for the year that they are in my care, which is why I am seeking funding for new materials to help make our year the best it can be!
My Project
Center time is a beloved time of every Kindergartener's day. It is a time to build on social, emotional, fine motor, and academic skills. The materials in this project would be used daily in our center time experiences.
A light table in our classroom would open up a completely new center experience and give my students new manipulatives to be able to learn and play with.
The light table accessories would be used to enhance fine motor skills and encourage growth in literacy and math development depending on the accessory being used. Students will be encouraged to work cooperatively to try out ideas and use the materials available to deepen their understanding of literacy and math concepts. The magnetic accessories will also help students gain an understanding of magnetism, which is an interesting science discovery for young children.
Light tables have become popular in early childhood classrooms over the past few years and I am so excited to think of possibly having one in my classroom for my students to learn with and enjoy. Thank you for your consideration!
