My students need Reading and Math Blaster computer games, a CD player to "blast" our learning centers, and small group reading activities to blast into learning!
Do you remember what is was like to be in the middle of listening to a story and the story is interrupted? My students experience that every time we want to listen to a story on CD. Or, have you ever wanted to learn using brightly colored manipulatives verses black and white paper?
I teach 20 active and eager 2nd grade students.
We are a high risk school with over 75% of our students receiving free/reduced lunches. Many of this year's 2nd grade students will come in below level. I want my students to be successful! I want them to be fluent readers and understand math skills. So many students have not had an opportunity to work through the skills necessary for fluent reading and good math skills. I am wanting materials to help them get what they need and make learning a "blast"!
My Project
The Reading Blaster and Math Blaster games will offer my students individual practice in areas where they need help. We will also be able to work through some of the games whole group using our SMARTboard. Our CD player is not working and skips when we are trying to listen to our stories or listening centers. With a new CD player, we will be able to blast into new heights with our learning. With the small group activities, we will be able to work together to understand certain skills and have a blast with our learning opportunities.
Please help give my students the opportunity to have a good listening center where the player doesn't skip.
Also, give them the technology to make learning fun. You can make a difference in a student's education!
