Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in a school with a unique group of students that work hard, exceed expectations, and truly want to do their best. They are involved in their community and love their school.
They are a diverse group of 3rd graders that can benefit from a structured learning environment.
3rd grade is a huge change from lower grade levels. Students are required to be more independent in their learning. Our classroom encourages independent learning and my students learn how to be more involved in the learning process and stay organized with their learning. Being organized leads my students to be more responsible and take charge of their learning.
My Project
The materials that my students need this year will help them become more independent in the learning environment. My students will be able to enter the classroom and access their materials for the day all in one location.
This will help them feel more independent and in control of their learning.
Their book bins will help them keep track of their journals, writing folders, consumable books, and reading books. A writing folder will also help them organize their learning through the writing process. Having these materials makes independent learning better for not just students but the teacher as well. Students can use their own materials located in the same place every day which keeps materials protected for repeated use.
