Learning in the Palm of their Hands

Help me give my students two iPads, cases, and Apple pencils that can be used by the students in a variety of ways in the classroom for assessment and hands-on learning.

My Students

My students come from a small town in Northern Utah. My classroom is full of diversity, with a group of students who all have the potential to succeed well beyond fourth grade. We work to instill a growth mindset in our classroom which helps students understand that anything is possible with passion and perseverance.

There are many people outside outside the walls of our school who want to see our youth move mountains!

Contributing to a DonorsChoose project is a simple way to contribute to the future generations by giving them the tools to succeed.

My Project

Each year, students walk through our doors with an increased knowledge of technology. As educators, we need to adapt to the needs of our students and the changing world which is why I am asking for funding for this project. My project consists of two iPads, along with the materials necessary to make them accessible to students who will walk through my classroom for many years to come.

iPads are very versatile and will offer many learning opportunities for my students both inside and outside of the classroom.

With the addition of iPads to our current technology in the classroom, students will be able to create, record, present, and share their work in various subjects. I plan to use these iPads as another way for students to show what they know through videos, pictures, and voice recordings. I also plan to use these iPads as a way to gather, collect, and communicate evidence for the new SEED Standards for fourth grade; (for example, using slow motion video as evidence to help explain the transfer of energy or wave patterns and taking picture of a model and annotating the picture with the Apple pencil). My students will also be able to access an online library at the tip of their fingers, as well as digital manipulatives for math.

There are so many applications available to support our learners and enhance students learning. I would love to share those with my students.
