Teacher Professional Development: I need a MacBook Pro to attend the Boyne City Technology Conference so I can observe the newest ideas and bring them back to my school to use in our library. <profdevpilot>
My classroom is a vibrant classroom full of the love for learning. We are a busy motivated group of learners who love to read and write. My job as the school librarian is to maintain a collection of materials that will enhance the school curriculum and specific units that teachers develop.
I have been the librarian here at this elementary since January of 2003.
I also worked at our public library for 8 years prior to my experience here. I love reading and being able to see the same joy develop in younger students as they listen to stories and then learn to read on their own. This makes me quite positive that I have the best job in the world! All students, Preschool through Fourth Grade, visit the library on a fixed schedule each week. During their class they are able to check out books for their reading enjoyment. One of my objectives is to continually update, add to, and maintain a collection of materials that will enhance the school curriculum and specific units that teachers develop throughout the year. I also work at maintaining an enjoyable reading collection that will instill and continually further the love of reading in the students along with offering reading and reference materials for the students to use.
My Project
I want to attend the Boyne City Technology Conference so I can observe the newest ideas and bring them back to my school to use in our library. I will be using this MacBook to participate in this amazing conference. I will be able to go to hands-on learning workshops to further my knowledge in this area. I am excited about this opportunity to push my knowledge into new areas. This project will allow me to purchase a Macbook to research and create dynamic lessons in iTunes U and Nearpod. This will allow me to expand on my current knowledge while providing me the opportunity to learn new strategies, and give me exposure to the most timely and relevant topics and trends in every area of the curriculum.
I want a Macbook in order to increase my instruction strategies and learn more about best practices in all areas of technology and the curriculum.
This project will make a difference in library by opening a whole new world of technology and digital resources to me. I am so excited about this opportunity and can't wait to put my new knowledge in to action.
