My students need 2 Chromebooks which will allow the students to collaborate in groups while working on online projects, unlike the desktop computers which are stationary and do not allow for collaboration.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As the Library Media Specialist, I know all too well how getting up-to-date equipment and technology in the hands of students can be challenging. This is especially true in areas of high poverty/low income. Our Middle School encompasses 446 students in grades sixth through eighth. 64% of those students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
Our library is in need of 2 Chromebooks to replace desktop computers that are 10 years old. They will help us provide equitable physical and intellectual access to the resources and tools required for learning.
My Project
Our library is in need of 2 Chromebooks to replace desktop computers that are 10 years old. They will help us provide equitable physical and intellectual access to the resources and tools required for learning.
The students will utilize these Chromebooks for research, Accelerated Reader, creating projects through Google Apps and reading online books.
Having up-to-date, reliable technology will ensure that the students are able to access the internet efficiently and have access to the most current applications and information
The Chromebooks will allow the students to move around the library and collaborate in groups while working on online projects, unlike the desktop computers which are stationary and do not allow for collaboration. Lastly, the Chromebooks will be used for online state testing.
