Learning in The 21st Century!
My students need a laptop we can connect to our SmartBoard.
"A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart!" This is my personal journey for the students that I teach.
The students that I teach attend a Title I school.
This means that over 85% of students are economically disadvantaged. They receive free or reduced lunch. They lack the resources to fulfill their basic educational needs. Our school recently became an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. As an IB World School, teachers are committed to developing internationally-minded students.
We are lucky enough to have a SmartBoard and projector in our classroom. However, all of the computers are outdated. The computers we do have are so old that if they are unable to be updated. They also freeze and crash all the time. Therefore, I cannot rely on those computers to plan virtual learning experiences for my students. We need an updated laptop to connect to our SmartBoard, so that all of my students can benefit from learning from technology.
My students deserve the same opportunities as those students in schools with the latest and greatest technology.
This laptop would allow all of my students to be able to experience virtual learning opportunities being connected to our SmartBoard. It would also give students an opportunity to learn how to use a laptop and create presentations that can be shown on the SmartBoard. This laptop would allow me to enhance the learning experiences for all of my students in all subject areas.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
