My students need clipboards and dry erase lap boards to be able to comfortably do work around our classroom outside of their desks. Movement around the classroom prevents students from becoming fidgety.

My Students
I am a new teacher at a wonderful school full of students who love to move and learn! These students are all individuals and learn differently. I want to empower these energetic second graders by giving them all the tools they need to succeed.
I teach an inclusive classroom where 2/3 of my students are special-ed or just working below grade level.
Differentiated instruction is necessary to make sure all students are successfully meeting their individual learning and behavioral goals.
My Project
The clipboards and dry erase boards are perfect for spelling and sight word practice, math, games, or any group activity! My goal is to provide students with the flexibility to move around the classroom and learn in motion.
Moving around the classroom will increase blood flow and help students focus on their work.
Using this alternative method in the classroom has been proven to promote student engagement.
My special education students will benefit from dry erase boards by being able to practice handwriting skills, letter formation, and sight word practice. The dry erase boards can also be beneficial in math when students require drawing a visual to solve an equation. Another option for students will be to take their writing on a clipboard to a quiet spot around the room, giving them privacy in a calming atmosphere to complete their work.
