Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are a bubbly bunch of non- verbal children who are bursting to be understood. Each child in my classroom is a unique learner who comes to school each day ready to explore at the highest levels.

Despite the lack of voice out put, my students are go-getter's and do what they can with what they have.

They maximize every moment dedicated to their education.

My students love to learn, but need to be engaged and motivated. I would like to provide them with as many opportunities for exploring, learning, and communicating. My students come from under-resourced neighborhoods and homes. Their parents work very hard but cannot provide more than what is necessary. I want my students to have the best education possible despite their disabilities.

My Project

The wireless headphones allow students to move around the classroom freely while exploring and discovering during learning. The wireless keyboard will allow students to move around the classroom and not be confined to their seat, while allowing hands on and technological engagement. The movement sensory sox allows students to improve their self calming, balance, and spatial awareness, as well as heightening movement creativity.

While our students have Autism, We teach our students not the disability.

Theses items will allow students to be independent, self regulating and in control of themselves and their education and emotions while accessing the general curriculum.
