My Students

ADD, ADHD, behavior issues...these words are thrown around classrooms and parent teacher conferences constantly. Medication is not always the answer. Movement is the key!

I teach enthusiastic 5-7 year olds in first grade who are adjusting to a full day environment.

They are full of energy, creative, imaginative and thirsty for knowledge. They only have one recess a day and a special class (art, gym or music) once a week.

My Project

So many children have trouble sitting for the rigorous state curriculum. By allowing kids some "wiggle room," they can better focus on the lessons and teacher. Hokki stools allow students to move slightly while safely sitting for their learning. By balancing and moving on the stools, kids are more engaged and involved.

Better seating can make a difference for so many kids, ones with special needs and those who just have extra energy.

The base of the stool allows for movement in all directions, which is critical to student development as physical movement both increases well-being and encourages the physical and intellectual maturing process. These stools could keep kids engaged, motivated and excited to learn!
