Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I love teaching kindergarten! My kindergartners are authentic; they express their whole self genuinely. Students express deep affection, admiration, love, and hope. Nowadays, my students are adapting to new ways of learning and they are very optimistic, although, they often express their need to be physically present in the classroom. It is amazing to see how open-minded they are every morning when we meet in a Distancing Learning scenario. They are always eager to learn.
I am always determined to build a fun, engaged, and safe environment for my students.
Finally, maintaining strong communication with parents and students is crucial for me.
My Project
The use of playing with play-dough will benefit my students with their motor skills, creativity, literacy, numeracy, and much more. Sand playing builds hand-eye coordination, strengthening muscles, and can assist some students with calming down their bodies. I especially love Magnetic letters/numbers because they involve students in active, hands-on learning activities. As students play with magnets, parents can emphasize names, shapes, numbers, etc.
Especially in times of anxiety and uncertainty, your donations to this project will help my students learn foundational skills in a playful way and will keep them engaged.
