My students love online learning and using their Google Tools and Chromebooks. However, it would be such a treat to print some special projects in our mostly paperless classroom.
I teach a class of 30 fourth graders in California.
I have a diverse group of learners including gifted students, special needs students and students who qualify for free lunches at school. They all share a love of technology as a tool for learning. My school is very supportive of innovation in the classroom for both teachers and students.
My Project
My students work in a mostly paperless classroom. Most work is done on learning websites, or with our Google Tools like Google Docs and Presentations. The parents are very supportive of using technology tools in the classroom. Even though we are striving to be paperless, it would be special for the students to print out their best projects a few times per year. At the start of the school year, with the help of Donors Choose, my class received a Google Cloud Color Printer, with some toner. As we near the end of the school year, that color ink toner needs replacing. There is no funding in the school budget for more toner.
Donations to this project will help improve our mostly paperless classroom.
The students love to show their parents their work on paper a few times per year. Remember Dorothy in the "Wizard of Oz"? She opens that door and everything appears in color! The students have that same look on their faces when they print something from their writing portfolio with a color image added. They know they are not in Kansas anymore!
Will you help us take our learning to that next level?
