My Students

Help! Our old, worn, classroom rug smells like a mysterious combination of Doritos and feet! My students deserve a nice, clean rug in their classroom! I promise we will never eat Doritos on it or walk barefoot. :)

My students are second graders in New York.

Our school community is wonderfully diverse, with students from many backgrounds. Many speak another language at home. My classroom is a "Collaborative Team Teaching" class, which means that some of the students are special education students and some are general education students. All the children work together, but with two teachers, every student receives the individual attention they need to reach their maximum potential.

My Project

A large, soft rug will provide my students with a comfortable place to sit as they learn, work, and play. They will gather on the rug for reading books, playing math games, hearing stories, and countless other activities. Our room has an Ocean Life theme, and the deep blue of the rug will look like the sea!

The classroom meeting area is the center of classroom activity and the first place one notices when they enter the room.

A beautiful, clean, bright rug will brighten our learning environment and make the children more engaged in learning!
