Help me give my students access to these three-dimensional Carolina lab kits. By taking a hands-on approach to learning, students will develop a deeper understanding of the carbon cycle, endangered species, and ecosystems.
When people ask me what I teach, I do not answer that I teach science. I tell them that I teach students. The truth is that I teach so much more than just science. I teach my students to ask questions, explore, stand up for what they believe in, be kind, be responsible, believe in themselves, and to never give up on their dreams. Science just happens to be the way in which I choose to teach them these skills, in an effort to ultimately transform these young, spirited, curious adolescents into mature and productive members of society.
Bill Nye said "there's nothing I believe in more strongly than getting young people interested in science and engineering, for a better tomorrow, for all humankind".
The students I teach are our future doctors, engineers, climatologists, nurses, marine biologists, cancer research scientists, teachers, business leaders, parents of the coming generation, and so much more. They deserve the very best in education. They deserve love and support. They deserve people like you helping them reach their goals and change the world.
My Project
These three-dimensional Carolina lab kits help students develop an understanding of various concepts such as the cycling of matter, ecosystem dynamics, and endangered species. Students will take a STEM-based approach to learning about the carbon cycle and develop a model based on initial observations in an open system. Students will also take an interactive game based approach to learning about ecosystems and endangered species by "playing" card games as a class and in small groups to explore how changes in ecosystems can lead to a loss of biodiversity and which types of threats lead to population decline. These kits will encourage learning and FUN by engaging students with their 3D design!!
