My students are a diverse group who come from a variety of backgrounds.
Many of my students come from homes where English is not spoken as a first language, or not spoken at all. I am in a community where both Spanish and French are spoken.
Despite some language barriers, my students find a way to communicate and participate in all classroom activities with enthusiasm and determination. The passion my students show every day inspires me to be a better teacher and to strive to meet all of their needs. My students are incredible learners, and as a result, I am meeting the bar they set.
Learning how to teach my students remotely is very new for my students and I. I quickly figured out that I need a device that I can use to learn how to work with Zoom meeting and Google Classroom. The iPad will give me access to video training on these programs while allowing me hands-on experience in setting up the meetings and classrooms.
We are all taken out of our comfort zone, but with training and the right equipment, remote learning can be a little easier to initiate.
These are unconventional times and it calls for unconventional ideas. Help me be able to teach an effective class online.
