My Students

The students I currently work with are elementary school aged and have special needs. They have difficulty maintaining focus, organizing their thoughts and their work, and using their time effectively. Some have been diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders.

These students come from low income backgrounds.

Some even are English Language Learners, which makes accomplishing academic tasks even more challenging for them.

All of these students require modifications and management needs which help them meet their academic goals.

My Project

I work with two separate classes this year: a Kindergarten class and a first grade class. I push into each room for three periods each every day. My co-teachers and I have noticed that our students have difficulty regulating their volume in the classrooms, which results in a noisy, distracting working environment. This is why I am requesting two Yacker Trackers (One for each classroom that I push into).

Our enthusiastic students can benefit from the use of Yacker Trackers because they will help our students learn to regulate their volume and learn what an acceptable volume level sounds like.

Additionally, they will love the fun traffic light format which is easy for them to understand.
